A great hiking day tour to the hot springs in Mt. Hengill and Reykjadalur Valley in Iceland. This is a 7 km, half-day trek that everyone can participate in. A unique chance to experience the local way of visiting the hot springs for a bath.

Hike from the outskirts of Hveragerđi, the town of magical, natural hot springs and flowers, into the beautiful valley of Reykjadalur. Once you reach the valley, you will observe hot water rushing down the slopes of Hellisheiđi mountain range, creating an ideal place to relax in an untouched natural hot stream. If you´re up to it, bring your swimwear! The valley has an amazing abundance of geothermal springs and you will witness everything from small gurgling melting pots to vibrant super heated pools of water. After strolling along these wonders of nature we hike back down into the town of Hveragerđi. This is a great half-day 7km trek that everyone can participate in. Get in touch with pure Icelandic nature on your own two feet!

Minimum age: 10 years.
Maximum: 14 persons per guide.

Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, some headwear and gloves. SWIMWEAR ( bathing suit and a towel)!!!
We do recommend good hiking boots!!! Hiking boots and windproof jackets and pants can be rented from the tour operator.

Pickup time:From 1st of April - 30th of Sept the pick up will start at 08:00. From 1st of Oct - 31st of March the pick up will start at 09:00.

Winter departure:During the winter there might be ice and snow on the hiking path making the hike a little harder. Our guides make sure that everyone is safe and comfortable in these circumstances. We assess the conditions before each tour and provide crampons if necessary.

To avoid dispute in case of cancellation, we strongly recommend that our clients purchase a comprehensive travel insurance in their home country, that covers your cost should you have to cancel your tour. This kind of travel insurance is usually not expensive and it frequently covers other risks too.
