This is a perfect tour to enjoy the stunning landscapes that the south of Iceland has to offer. Experience a glacier walk on Sólheimajökull and witness the strange ice formations while you take in the breathtaking surrounding scenery.
Travel through the fertile farmlands of south Iceland to black volcanic sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanoes and majestic glaciers.
First in a series of natural landmarks is Skógafoss waterfall, arguably the country‘s most iconic waterfall and one of south Iceland‘s star attraction. Viking legends tell of a treasure buried in a cave behind the waterfall.
From Skógafoss you travel east to Sólheimajökull glacier for a 1 hour walk in a spellbinding glacier landscape. Combination of expansive views, jagged peaks, cool blue glaciers and wide-open sky provide a steady stream of amazing photographic opportunities.
Heading back to Reykjavik from Sólheimajökull your last but by no means the last is the iconic Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can literally walk behind a curtain of water which is certainly a moment you’ll want to capture on camera.
On a clear day you may have a good view of famous volcanoes, Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull. When we drive under the foothills of Eyjafjallajökull you can get a glimpse of the Westman Islands, rising steeply from the ocean just a few kilometers of the coast.
This is a great value, easy, sightseeing tour with an adventurous twist. The sights on this tour are certainly breathtaking.
We reserve the right to alter the itinerary if weather conditions change and the Glacier Walk has to be cancelled due to weather. If a cancellation occurs, a visit to the Skógar Museum and Vík village is offered instead.
