Day 1. Reykjavík - Glacier Walk - Skaftafell

You will be picked up at your accommodation in Reykjavík early in the morning by your guide and driver. Please note that pick up is not available at some of the hotels in the city center of Reykjavik. Instead, pick up will be at special bus stops in the city center. The tour starts by leaving the capital heading east towards the picturesque south coast. The further east the more stunning the scenery becomes, numerous waterfalls that tumbles down from steep cliffs, giant glaciers and vast black deserts form sharp contrast. On the way a stop is made for an exciting glacier walk on the glacier Sólheimajökull or Svínafellsjökull. After the glacier walk the tour continues to the newly built, comfortable hotel in time for dinner (not included). In the evening we will be on the lookout for the magical lights of the winter sky, the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights, hoping they will make an appearance.

Day 2. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Ice Caves

After breakfast the tour continues further east to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon filled with huge floating icebergs that have broken off from the glacier. Here we also get to see the diamond beach where icebergs appear as diamonds on the black sand beach. After having admired this spectacle of ice and water an adventurous trip is made into one of the ice caves of Vatnajökull Europe’s largest glacier. In the afternoon the journey back to Reykjavik starts. On the way you'll visit the black beach of Reynisfjara, being aware of the huge and powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the beautiful waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss before returning to Reykjavik in late afternoon/early evening.
