Lonely planet's top ten list of destinations 2013 was released this past October and Iceland takes the 7th place as best for Activities, value for money and off the beaten track.
Iceland as a destination for travelers is becoming ever more popular. A new record is set in number of visitors to Iceland year after year and it's expected that 2013 will be no different. This is partly because in the past few years Iceland has become more affordable for low budget travelers due to the fall of the local currency the Icelandic Krona. We also believe that another contributing factor is that the word about this relatively unknown destination is spreading. Looking at visitor surveys main concern of past visitors was the price of flights and cost of living was the main negative factor while all other factors met or exceeded their expectations so with prices in Iceland coming down the satisfaction o the whole experience has risen.
