Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival


Upon arrival at Keflavík airport, you will be met by your private chauffeur who will take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. You will be free for the rest of the day to explore Reykjavik.

Overnight – Reykjavík

Day 2. The Golden Circle


The guide picks you up from the hotel in the morning and you head out for the famous Golden Circle, where you will see Þingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal area and Gullfoss Waterfall.

Day 3. Þórsmörk Nature Reserve


Þórsmörk is a magnificent valley named after Þór (Thor), the god of Thunder. We will cross the deep and roaring rivers that guard the wooded surroundings of Thórsmörk, and you will have time to hike around the area and admire some of the many viewpoints it offers. Thorsmörk is Iceland‘s most popular hiking area, as visitors cannot fail to be in awe of its natural beauty and captivated by its charm.

Day 4. Landmannalaugar and Fjallabak Highlands


Today you will head inland to visit the Landmannalaugar area. The track passes through a wide variety of canyons, valleys, over rock ridges and black lava, weird plain of lava rocks surrounded by captivating mountains. The mountain track over Landmannaleið offers some of the finest scenic views available throughout this fascinating region. The surrounding mountains are perhaps the most varied and colourful in Iceland. This area is highly recommended for nature lovers and those interested in geology. It offers numerous hiking trails for long and short hikes. From Landmannalaugar we continue on the Fjallabak route which is one of the most scenic trails in the interior highlands of Iceland, perhaps the most colourful and diversified of the many interesting mountain tracks, rugged colourful landscape of unsurpassed beauty. One of the highlights of the route is Eldgjá, one of the most interesting sights in this part of the country.

Day 5. Skaftafell National Park and Glacier Lagoon


We driver over Skeiðarársandur to the area of Vatnajökull National Park. First stop is Skaftafell National Park, an oasis wedged between glacier and sand plains. Its natural beauty is a result of favorable weather conditions and the interaction of fire and ice. One of the many interesting hiking trails takes you to Svartifoss, one of Iceland’s most picturesque waterfalls, framed in by beautiful basalt columns that surround it. Next we stop at the famous Glacier Lagoon, where huge icebergs, true sculptures of nature, broken off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, float and grind together in the blue waters of the lagoon. We also go down to the Diamond Beach before heading back to Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Day 6. The South Coast


Today we make out way back to the capital. On the way we visit all the main highlights of the South Coast. First stop is Reynisfjara beach and Dyrhólaey. There you can see spectacular black volcanic beaches and interesting rock formations and thousands of nesting seabirds which nest in almost every crevice in summer. Next stop will be Skógafoss, a beautiful 60 meter high waterfall. The glaciers Eyjafjallajokull and Mýrdalsjökull are towering above. Last stop is the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you will have the chance to walk behind the waterfall, quite a unique experience.

Day 7. Departure
