Upon arrival at Keflavík airport, you will be met by your private chauffeur who will drive you to Reykjavík.
Overnight: Reykjavík
You will be picked up at 8:30 for a guided tour of the scenic south shore of Iceland, rich in history as well as natural wonders, waterfalls, glaciers, and black beaches. Visit the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you will have the chance to walk behind the waterfall, quite a unique experience. Next stop will be Skógafoss, a beautiful 60 meter high waterfall. The glaciers Eyjafjallajokull and Mýrdalsjökull are towering above. We go to Reynisdrangar with spectacular black volcanic beaches and interesting rock formations and thousands of nesting seabirds which nest in almost every crevice in summer. The promontory at Dyrholaey is a massive natural arch carved by the relentless pounding of the winds and surf. Continue to Vík, a picturesque town on the black volcanic sand beach and the southernmost town in Iceland.

Drive through the black volcanic sand of Iceland´s most active volcano, Hekla, and the green valley of Dómadalur. Arrive in Landmannalaugar, a volcanic zone with a mixture of colourful rhyolite rock and black obsidian stones. Landmannalaugar is an extraordinary beautiful oasis in the highlands,- it features colourful mountains and geothermal activity with Mt. Hekla and the lake filled explosion crater Ljótipollur close by. Walking around the Landmannalaugar area is a feast of colour contrasts. Adventurous people may want to end their walk with an outdoor bath in a natural hot water pool – no locker rooms, changing either done outside or in a mountain cabin! On the way back to Hella, drive through a beautiful highland wilderness and pass by an area with several hydroelectric power plants.

This morning we will visit one of Iceland’s most majestic waterfalls, Gullfoss. Gulfoss cascades 32 meters into the canyon of Hvítá that takes its source in Langjökull glacier, the second largest in Iceland. A short distance from the waterfall we find the Geysir area with its numerous hot springs and geysers. In the area we find the very active Strokkur that spouts every 5-10 minutes and the old famous Great Geysir. Continue on the highland road Kjölur, passing the geothermal area Hveravellir between the glaciers Langjökull and Hofsjökull to Akureyri, largest town in north Iceland. Akureyri is the second largest town in Iceland, an industrial, fishing and dairy town on Eyjafjordur Fjord.

Today, head to the picturesque fishing village of Húsavík, the "whale watching capital" of Iceland. Húsavík was the first place in Iceland to offer whale watching cruises and many tourists’ main purpose for visiting the town is to participate. The Whale Museum in Húsavík, is an educational information centre on marine wildlife.
At the harbour we board the excursion boat, and take a course west across the bay. There is a 98% chance of seeing whales on this cruise. Mink whales, fin whales, harbour porpoises and dolphins have all been sighted here. Mink whales are seen on virtually every excursion. After the Whale Watching cruise we continue to lunar like Lake Mývatn with its impressive green inlets and geothermal activity. Spend the day exploring the many natural wonders of Lake Mývatn and the surrounding areas. The lake area is known worldwide for its exceptionally many breeding duck species and the abundance of other birdlife in summer. The lake's surroundings show great variety in landscapes and amazing geological formations. Visit the highlights Dimmuborgir lava formations, Hverfjall crater , the volcano Krafla, Námaskarð geothermal area, Skútustaðagígar craters, the Nature Baths, and numerous other interesting and scenic spots. See the beautiful waterfall Goðafoss and return to Akureyri.

This morning we leave Akureyri and drive through the narrow green valleys and mountains pass and continue to Skagafjörður valley, renowned for horse breeding. Popular horse riding tours for beginners and experienced riders are available here. In Skagafjörður you will also be able to join some of the best White Water Rafting in Iceland (optional). Continue south past the crater Grábrók and its 3000-year old moss covered lava field before arriving in Reykjavik.

Leave Reykjavík at around 10:00 and drive to the Blue Lagoon, located near Keflavik Airport.
