Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival and Magical Northern Lights by Super Jeep

Please note that Extra nights can be added to the package upon request.

Upon arrival at Keflavik airport a Flybus transfer is included to your accommodation in Reykjavik. You will be free for the rest of the afternoon to explore Reykjavik, visit museums, landmarks etc. Visit the Northern Lights Center, where you will learn about the phenomenon of northern lights by viewing facts and figures on wall posters, HD screens and interactive devices. Downtown Reykjavík offers excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs.

A Super Jeep will pick you up at your hotel around 20:00 to take you far from the city light to search for the Northern Lights. From 15/09 - 31/09 and 15/03 - 15/04, the pick up starts 21:00 due to a longer daylight. We leave the light pollution of the city in the evening on this approximately 3 - 4 hour tour and head out into the dark and cold night in our super jeep that are specially modified for the wild Icelandic terrain. We will drive wherever the lights take us, even on mountain roads, in our search for the best locations to view this fabulous solar display swirling in the sky in a symphony of magical colors and shapes.

If we aren’t successful in finding the lights right away we drive on to good locations our drivers have found to be successful in our bid to track them down. This phenomenal display of colors, varying from greenish yellow to beautiful shades of blue, red, pink, purple and white is a sight you will never forget. The spectacular Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis are created by electrically charged particles and create such a display they’re known to take people’s breath away.

Please note that it’s not possible to guarantee the Northern lights. The Northern Lights superjeep tour is dependent on the weather and sky conditions and we reserve the right to cancel at any time. If the evening tour goes ahead and the Northern Lights are not seen, we will offer you to try once again for free! the free try never expire as long as we are running the hunt for the Northern Lights but the FREE try will always be pending on availability.

It is important to understand that in Iceland you can experience all four seasons in less than one day. It is vital to wear comfortable and appropriate clothing like waterproof, walking shoes, dress in layers to be able to enjoy your journey to the fullest.

Day 2. The Amazing Blue Lagoon

Pick up at your hotel in the morning. The non-guided bus transfer takes you to this unique geothermal spa called The Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is located in the middle of one of the most recent lava fields in west Iceland. Here you can relax in the refreshing and healing water of The Blue Lagoon before you return to Reykjavík where you will spend the rest of your day.

Day 3. Thórsmörk Valley & Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Sights by Super Jeep

The pick up for this tour starts at 08:30. This is one of the most popular tours in Iceland and the setting for the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption in 2010.

The elegant Seljalandsfoss waterfall is unique in its kind, in that you can actually walk behind the plummeting falling stream without getting (too) wet, for a unique viewing angle. After a stop there we head on to the legendary Thórsmörk valley, nestled in between three glaciers, with a stop at the Gígjökull glacier further up in the valley. From there you can hike up to the edge of the magnificent glacier Eyjafjallajökull that descends from the summit of a volcano in a jumble of crevasses.

We will cross the deep and roaring rivers that guard the wooded surroundings of Thórsmörk, and you will have time to hike around the area and admire some of the many viewpoints it offers. Thorsmörk is Iceland‘s most popular hiking area, as visitors cannot fail to be in awe of its natural beauty and captivated by its charm. Drive back to the capital after a thoroughly exhilarating Superjeep excursion.

It is important to understand that in Iceland you can experience all four seasons in less than one day. It is vital to wear comfortable and appropriate clothing like waterproof, walking shoes, dress in layers to be able to enjoy your journey to the fullest.

Minimum for this tour is 4 passengers.

Day 4. Explore Reykjavík on your own

Here you have a free day to explore on your own.

Day 5. The Golden Circle Classic by bus

The Golden Circle Classic Tour (duration 6-7 hours) takes you on a wondrous circular journey through the heart of Iceland’s Southern Region, stopping at some of Iceland’s most iconic sites.

Þingvellir National Park is an attraction of great historical, geological and cultural significance. Located in a rift valley where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, the UNESCO designated world heritage site is also the birthplace of the Althing—Iceland’s parliament founded in 930 AD—where the nation’s most powerful leaders would meet to decide on legislation and carry out brutal Viking-age justice.

From Þingvellir, the tour continues across an area of picturesque scenery to the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. Once there, you can take several paths around the two tiers of cascading water to explore several vantage points. Extra time is allotted at this location for a lunch break at Gullfoss Café.

Home of “The Great Geysir” hot spring, which all geysers are named after, this area is an impressive collage of bubbling mud pools, hissing steam vents, and colourful algae deposits. Strokkur geyser puts on quite the show every few minutes blasting boiling water high up into the air.

While any one of these stops makes incredible fodder for your Instagram feed, they also all have rich histories and fascinating tales, each told with their own nuances by our knowledgeable guides. It’s not just facts and figures that bring these places to life, but the compelling stories our guides have collected over time.

Day 6. Departure

A Flybus transfer from your hotel or a nearby Bus Stop to Keflavík airport.
